It’s not every day you can say this, but this is definitely one of those days. Ahem. A new Star Wars movie was released in theaters this year, and if you didn’t get a chance to see it on the big screen, now we know when you can watch it at home.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is coming to digital on July 21, two months after its release in theaters. And, if it were a normal Star Wars film, we’d assume more people had seen it. But this one grossed just over $340 million worldwide, which is around three or four times less than almost every other Star Wars movie before it. So, as we said, maybe you haven’t seen it. Numbers don’t lie.
The July 21 digital release is followed by a physical media release on August 25, which includes DVD, Blu-ray, 4K, and a few limited versions. Here’s the new trailer to set it all up.
Now, when you’re talking home release, you want to know about special features, and The Mandalorian and Grogu has a few. Here’s what you get with both the physical and digital releases, as per the press release:

And here are images of the different physical media versions, including the Steelbook, “Beskar Collector’s Edition,” Blu-ray, and 4K.
Admittedly, we didn’t love The Mandalorian and Grogu, but it is a Star Wars movie. So it’s something we’re definitely going to revisit, and we’re glad we finally know when that can happen. No word on the Disney+ release, but we’d imagine it’ll be there in September or October.
